President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will resume Saturday his trip to Yogyakarta to once again visit the victims of Mount Merapi eruption in Yogyakarta as well as supervising the government's rescue mission from the presidential palace in the city.
President Yudhoyono, who was forced to stay a night in the Military Academy complex in Magelang on Friday following the slippery road after heavy volcanic ashes from Merapi, would resume his trip to Yogyakarta through Purworejo after the closer main access through Sleman had been closed.
"The president would pass the street followed by dozens of container trucks bringing logistics for Merapi victims," said Brig. Sri Mulyanto, an officer from Kulon Progo police, who stood by with other dozens officers alongside Jl. Raya Wates - Purworejo.
More than 100 people have been reported dead following a series of eruption from Mount Merapi, which had its volcanic activity intensified since last month.
